What We Clean
Every Type of Deck & Fence Material
Wood, composite, or vinyl — each material needs a different approach. We know the difference.

Wood Decks
Pressure-treated pine, cedar, redwood, and hardwoods all respond differently to cleaning. We use low-pressure washing with wood-safe cleaners that lift gray oxidation and mildew without raising grain, furring, or splintering the wood fibers.
- Removes gray UV oxidation
- Kills mildew & algae in wood pores
- Gentle enough for older wood
- Prep surface for staining/sealing

Multi-Level & Elevated Decks
Two-story homes and split-level decks present unique access challenges. We bring the right equipment — including rope-and-pulley systems and extension wands — to safely clean every level without setting foot on delicate wood surfaces.
- Rope & pulley setup for safe access
- Extension wand reach for upper levels
- No foot traffic on freshly cleaned wood
- Works on any elevation

Composite Decking
Composite decking still collects dirt, mold, and mildew in its textured surface. We use specialized low-pressure cleaning that removes buildup without scuffing, scratching, or dulling the composite finish — preserving the manufacturer warranty.
- Non-abrasive cleaning method
- Won't void manufacturer warranty
- Removes mold from textured grain
- Restores original color

Wood Fences
Tennessee humidity is tough on fences. Cedar and pressure-treated fences turn gray, grow mildew, and collect dirt. Our gentle wash restores the wood's natural color and extends the fence's lifespan by removing moisture-trapping organisms.
- Cedar & pressure-treated safe
- Removes gray weathering
- Kills moss & mildew at the base
- Full perimeter cleaning

Vinyl Fences
White vinyl fencing looks terrible when it's covered in green algae and dirt. Our soft wash brightens vinyl to like-new white without the scuff marks or streaking that aggressive pressure can leave behind.
- Restores bright white finish
- No scuffing or streaking
- Algae & mildew removal
- Safe for all vinyl grades
Why It Matters
Why Professional Deck Cleaning Is Worth It
Extend the Life of Your Wood
Mildew and algae hold moisture against wood fibers 24/7 — the #1 cause of premature rot and decay. Removing these organisms adds years to your deck and fence, delaying expensive replacement by a decade or more.
Perfect Prep for Staining
If you're planning to stain or seal, the wood must be clean first — otherwise you're sealing dirt and mildew into the surface. Our cleaning process delivers a perfectly prepped surface that accepts stain evenly and holds it longer.
Safer for Your Family
Algae and moss on decks create serious slip hazards — especially when wet. A clean deck is a safer deck. We also remove splinters and raised grain that can catch bare feet, making your outdoor space family-ready.
Better Than a Rental Machine
Rental pressure washers are tempting but dangerous on wood. Too much pressure causes irreversible furring, splintering, and grain damage. Our commercial equipment and trained technique deliver a deeper clean without the risk.
FAQ
Deck & Fence Cleaning Questions
Will pressure washing damage my wood deck?
It can — if the wrong pressure is used. Many DIYers and unqualified contractors use pressure that's too high, causing furring (fuzzy wood fibers), splintering, and irreversible grain damage. We use low pressure (800–1,200 PSI for most wood) combined with wood-safe cleaning solutions that do the work chemically rather than by brute force. Your deck gets clean without damage.
How soon after cleaning can I stain my deck?
The wood needs to be completely dry before staining — typically 24–48 hours after cleaning, depending on weather conditions. We recommend staining within 1–2 weeks of cleaning for best results. We can coordinate with your staining project or recommend local professionals if you need someone to handle the staining after we clean.
Can you clean a deck that's already been stained?
Yes — but we need to know upfront so we adjust our approach. We can clean over existing stain that's in good condition without stripping it. If the old stain is peeling or failing and you want it removed, that's a separate stripping process (which we can also do). Just let us know your situation during the estimate.
How do you clean between fence pickets and hard-to-reach areas?
We use a combination of low-pressure washing and specialized spray patterns that reach between pickets without blasting them apart. For tight spaces, we use extension wands and adjustable nozzles. We clean both sides of the fence when possible, and pay extra attention to the bottom rail where dirt and mildew accumulate most.
How long does deck and fence cleaning take?
An average-sized deck (200–400 sq ft) takes about 1–2 hours. A full perimeter fence around a typical yard takes 2–4 hours depending on length, height, and material. A deck + fence combo on the same property is usually a half-day project. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote.
Is it better to clean or replace my old gray fence?
In most cases, clean it. Cedar and pressure-treated fences turn gray from UV exposure and weathering — but the wood underneath is usually still sound. Cleaning removes the gray layer and reveals healthy wood beneath, often making the fence look 10 years younger. Replacement costs 5–10x more than cleaning. We'll give you an honest assessment — if the wood is actually rotting, we'll tell you.
